HYDRAULIC ANKLE AND FEET

Echelon Foot
Echelon Foot

Hydraulic ankle feet combine traditional prosthetic feet with the hydraulically-regulated movement of a mechanical ankle, allowing for a more natural “rocking” motion of the ankle and foot during walking. This type of foot may also be helpful for reducing the pressures that may occur in the socket, reducing the associated discomfort, increasing stability, and allowing for better adaptation across a broader range of surfaces and elevations.

There are a range of hydraulic ankle feet available, which are generally determined by the characteristics of the foot portion. Basic feet provide appropriate function for more limited walkers, and dynamic feet providing enhanced functionality for more aggressive walkers.
